Beat Rosenast is born on 18 December 1984 in Fribourg. At the age of 7 he starts his musical career by playing recorder and following solfège courses. Two years later he decided to learn clarinet. Between 1993 and 2005 he followed clarinet courses at the Conservatory of Fribourg; from fall 2005 until 2012 he studied this instrument at the “EMU Lausanne” in the class of Frédéric Rapin.

2010 he successfully completed his studies with a “Master of Arts HES-SO in Music Performance, major in Orchestra”, followed 2010 by a “Master of Arts HES-SO in Music Pedagogy, major in Instrumental Teaching”.

He did internships with the “Sinfonieorchester Biel” (between September 2009 and June 2010), and the “Sinfonietta de Lausanne” (from September 2008 until March 2010).

Between 2005 and 2011 he performed his military service as a member of the “Swiss Army Concert band”.

2009 he successfully finished his studies in the field of musical direction in the class of Jean-Claude Kolly at the Conservatory of Fribourg. At present he is the musical director of the “Union Paroissial de Villaz-St-Pierre”. He is assistant director and clarinet-soloist of the “Concordia de Fribourg”, the official symphonic wind orchestra of the city of Fribourg. In addition he is also the musical director of the youth orchestra of the Concordia. Together with the “Concordia” he reaches a second place in the competition for the interpretation of the second clarinet concerto “Il Concerto” composed by Oscar Navarro. The Spanish composer initiated this international competition himself.

From 2010 until 2016 he acted as president of the musical commission of the VFJ (Vereinigung Freiburgischer Jungmusikanten).

2016 he published his first solo-cd “Lamentation”. This recording is available from various online platforms like Deezer, Spotify, Amazon or Google-Play.
